How to Defuse a Bomb: The Project Children Story Screening

Last Thursday evening, we were honored to host Denis Mulcahy, the Founder of Project Children, to Massachusetts for the screening of the powerful documentary How to Defuse a Bomb: The Project Children Story. Denis, a former New York City Bomb Squad Police Officer, has been twice nominated for the Nobel Peace Price for his work with Project Children.

The documentary How to Defuse a Bomb detailed the program that brought more than 23,000 Protestant and Catholic children to the United States during “The Troubles” for a 6-week reprieve from the sectarian violence.

For nearly 40 years, many of you have supported the Robinson Family’s efforts to help promote peace in the North of Ireland by being host families, fund raiser workers, Belfast Cowboys band mates or golfers of our annual Irish Open. Some may have never had a clear understanding of what the charity was about, but upon viewing How to Defuse a Bomb all attendees walked away knowing the background and the history of the efforts extended to obtain and bolster peace in Northern Ireland.

It was great to see those family, friends, clients, and the Massachusetts diaspora who were able to attend last week’s standing room only showing.
